Course Embedded Workforce Preparation through an Intra-organizational Job Shadow Program

Abstract: A realistic job preview can save students time and money by decreasing time wasted in courses toward fields they may not enjoy. First-generation students can significantly benefit from career or job previews. Occupational understanding and relationship management are important goals in equitable workforce development practices. Often these experiences are only available where one has a network to curate such an opportunity. This presentation brings together different stakeholders in a conversation about the implementation and assessment of the job shadow program within a course setting. In this community of management educators, this panel will ask participants to share their best practices.
