Women in Leadership post COVID Opportunity

Keywords: Women in Leadership, New Normal, Gender Empowerment

Abstract: In this roundtable discussion, the topic of “women as leaders” will be explored. This discussion will include intriguing questions that will invite participants to think about the characteristics of effective leaders, and how leading through a crisis (i.e. the pandemic) has posed new challenges to leaders. Do women possess certain skills that allow them to not just survive but thrive when leading through a crisis? Why or why not? If so, what are these skills? Are there additional leadership skills that the "New Normal" will require of those at the helm? If so, what are they? Participants of this roundtable will be presented data and results from multiple C-level women leader interviews, as well as, useful techniques to be utilized in classroom exercises with students. The dialog and discussion will expand consideration and awareness of how students can apply core theory to the evolving leadership roles of women.
