Learning through Experience: How to Provide your Students with Hands-On Networking Experience while Creating a Better Classroom

This interactive and engaging workshop will focus on “speed networking” as an icebreaker for students. Networking can enable students to make diverse connections and become comfortable participating in the classroom. From a pedagogical perspective, this activity can provide a clear preview of the course, helping show connections across the material, in addition to establishing class norms early by introducing course content and themes. As an icebreaker, this approach not only allows for the formation of informal bonds/relationships and encourages students to share and develop social networks with each other, but also helps the instructor quickly become familiar with students.
