Case Learning Instead of Case Teaching: A Process For Using Student-Written Cases
Abstract: In this workshop we will explain and explore Business Grand Rounds, a process for using student-written cases in a wide range of business courses. The case teaching method is well known to business faculty and involves facilitating discussion of a pre-written case, typically to a well-defined endpoint or “right” answer. A case learning process using student-written cases increases student ownership and motivates student learning in pursuit of the “best” answer. This workshop is for faculty who have experience teaching with cases as well as those who are case-curious.
