Black Women Matter- Discussing Strategic Impacts For Organizations


Abstract: The topic of race and gender inequalities is often difficult and personal. Many do not want to say the wrong thing or be thought of unfavorably. However, business managers may be faced with this complex issue during their career lifespan.

This 60-minute session will explore two recent articles related to black women in organizations. Participants will be asked to 1) define the impact on the organization, 2) discuss the emotional and professional dilemma for the protagonist, 3) offer suggestions to fix the problem, and 4) discuss how these cases could be relevant for their courses they teach.
