Virtual Student Consulting Projects With Industry Partners: Ensuring Readiness

Abstract: The initial months of the COVID-19 pandemic caused an abrupt shift to online delivery for most college-level courses, including those where student consulting projects were a primary means of learning and assessment. Reflecting on this experience, what did management faculty learn? What were the benefits/challenges and unique opportunities associated with virtual consulting projects in classes? Are some projects, originally conducted in person, better suited for online delivery? In this session, we will focus on virtual student consulting projects. We will complete a framework exercise aimed at preparing students and industry partner stakeholders, and we will offer diverse perspectives to attendees.
