The Networking "Menu": An Online Exercise For Student Networking In Management Courses
Abstract: The Networking “Menu” is a customizable learning experience for online students to explore ways to network virtually and to sharpen their networking skills. The “menu” offers four networking options: 1) an online coffee break/happy hour, 2) a shared virtual activity, 3) a network analysis, and 4) virtual five-minute favors. The Networking “Menu” is designed to simulate the networking that occurs within the campus setting and to challenge student perceptions that networking is “icky” by providing students with online networking opportunities that benefit others. This exercise is applicable to online synchronous/asynchronous courses in organizational behavior at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
