Abstract: "Names are the sweetest and most important sound in any language". This famous quote by Dale Carnegie sums up the importance of knowing others' names. Most of us strive to make connections to our students. The session leaders will present research and concepts that demonstrate the importance of names. Then, they will lead a discussion that draws out the many ways the session participants learn their students' names. Finally, we will lead session participants in brainstorming additional ways to learn students' names. This information should be useful to teachers of classes at any collegiate level.
