Abstract: This panel focuses on the benefits of short-term study abroad experiences, defined as under eight weeks, to expose students to global business practices and short immersion into a different culture. These trips are a highly impactful pedagogical practice which serves as a strategy to build students’ global competence. Travel abroad promotes personal development through participation in group excursions, experiential learning activities, self-management of travel details, and authentic social/cultural interactions.
