Abstract: Kinky Boots (Jarrold, 2005), the film, provides an example of an organizational change that students can analyze by applying Kotter’s 8 steps of change. This true story of a family business that needed to adapt to changes in the environment in order to survive provides an example of a successful innovation. Issues of diversity, stereotypes, and overcoming bias in the film create a complex situation for change that is applicable to the current day.
