Abstract: The purpose of this session is to demonstrate two interactive role-playing in-class exercises from the author’s undergraduate-level “Leadership in Business Organizations” course. In doing so, the session will explore a particular type of active-learning exercise: “improvisational role-playing”. As session participants engage in both exercises and discuss their impressions of them, they will ideally gain insight into how this type of exercise uniquely challenges students to apply class concepts and develop general skills, as well as how instructors can create similar exercises of their own.
