Self-Care For Faculty: Infusing Yoga Into Your Pedagogical Preparation

Abstract: A consistent yoga practice is beneficial for teachers as it likely improves concentration, mindfulness, self-awareness, emotion regulation, and overall well-being. The purpose of this activity is to provide a self-care yoga practice useful for pedagogical preparation. This exercise is beneficial for beginners as well as experienced yoga practitioners wanting a relaxing, gentle yoga practice. This activity will be taught by a certified RYT 500 yoga instructor and will consist of a brief introduction, pranayama, gentle nonathletic asana, meditation, and discussion. Attendees should wear comfortable clothes, bring a mat, towel, or thin blanket and arrive on-time as to not disturb other attendees.
