Abstract: We share a two-part experiential exercise management educators can easily implement to make values relatable and relevant for students of every level in virtually any management course. The first part induces students to have a conversation with themselves about values by having them identify their top 5 values from a deck of 52 values playing cards; each card has the name (e.g., Truth) and description (e.g., “Authentic, candid, honest”) of a specific value. The second part challenges student to consider and share how they use their values in positive (i.e., helpful) and negative (i.e., harmful) ways towards themselves and others.
