Adapting Personal Swot Analysis For Student Needs

Abstract: This session focuses on a strategic planning exercise for business strategy capstone students. A key challenge in strategy classes is to make the concepts relevant to students as they, at times, seem abstract. We will discuss an exercise that allows us to teach important strategic skills in building a correct SWOT analysis by asking the students to create an expanded personal SWOT analysis that includes an assessment of each student’s current situation, development of a priority puzzle, mission statement, goals and next steps.
