Abstract: Virtual simulation technologies enable faculty to offer immersive learning experiences that support course learning objectives and student practice as well as enable diverse representations of business personnel in case studies. However, using an avatar to tour virtual simulations is too time consuming for many overscheduled college students. A promising alternative use of virtual simulations – via the replacement of webinar presentation slides with 3D virtual world dioramas – will be demonstrated and discussed in this session. While the demonstration exercise was designed for online undergraduate students, the same type of 3D virtual world content could be used in graduate-level and on-ground courses.
