Abstract: Abstract Using projects from real organizations can help engage students and deepen their understanding of course concepts as they apply material immediately in a real-world environment. The Student Opportunity Center (SOC) is one platform available to source projects for classroom use. Advantages of the SOC include cost, coordination assistance, and the ability to interact with the organization rather than working from a static case. In this session, we will discuss the pros and cons of implementing a project through the SOC and discuss triumphs and pitfalls of real-world projects in general.
