Abstract: Many educators design their courses in ways that may create disparate impact, whereby seemingly neutral standards and policies may have a disproportionately negative effect on communities that are marginalized in education, including caregivers, Mad/disabled people, and those experiencing the daily realities of racism. This workshop will teach participants tools for cultivating intersectional awareness, identifying and practicing equity issues in the classroom, and transforming pedagogical practices/policies so that all members of our learning ecosystems may thrive.
