Assigning Popular Press Business Books In Management/organizational Behavior Classes

Abstract: This submission presents an exercise to enhance Management/Organizational Behavior courses by complementing a traditional textbook with a business trade book. Students join reading groups to read a popular press management book, and together review the book and make a classroom presentation highlighting the themes of the book and how the book relates to the material they covered throughout the semester. Trade books are written primarily for practitioners, so students experience the material from a more applied perspective than traditional textbooks.
