Abstract: This roundtable provocation will focus on the stressors that college students face, and whether faculty should play a role in helping students with that stress (and if so, how?). Attendees will share experiences related to helping students alleviate stress, and will develop ideas for classroom interventions (training) as well as approaches for handling individual cases of student stress. Although students increasingly look to faculty for help with stress and other mental health issues, professors do not necessarily know how to provide assistance. If faculty believe they should actively help students with stress reduction, this roundtable will provide a deep dive into the mechanisms through which this help can take place.
