Facilitation of Learning In Management and Leadership Education

Abstract: Facilitation of learning (FoL) is a teaching strategy tactic where a student facilitates class topics for their peers who subsequently engage in the learning process through active learning. Educators incorporate FoL to (a) integrate active learning, (b) enhance student engagement, and (c) champion student agency, which places students in charge of their own learning. This session will introduce FoL and allow for application of an exercise in management and leadership courses, while our MOBTS colleagues could apply this exercise to their classroom. Attendees will leave the session inspired to be more intentional in our facilitation of learning.
