Group Formation and Team Selection Activity for Management and Human Resource Management Students – Why People Join Groups

The relevance and utilization of teamwork in the academia and industry is re-emphasized by this activity paper. In the same vein, positive outcomes of teamwork are attributed to efficacy of the group formation and team selection process. Thus, theoretical perspectives on why people join and participate actively in teams are adopted as the basis for the student group formation and team selection exercise for course-related group projects. An intellectual and technology-driven student activity is hereby advanced as experimented, for fair, accommodative, engaging and rewarding group formation and team selection.
