Low-Tech Experimentation in Higher Education: Should We Rethink IT Integration in the Classroom?

This session explores the pedagogical and social implications of minimizing information technology (IT) in higher education classrooms, focusing on findings from low-tech experiments conducted in a Canadian business school. By emphasizing simplicity, accessibility, and sustainability, these approaches reveal the limitations of IT and the often-overlooked benefits of low-tech methods, such as improved student engagement and concept retention. Participants will engage in a structured dialogue to critically examine the role of IT in education, share experiences, and identify actionable steps to balance technology with simplicity in their teaching practices.
