Reflections on demand driven micro-credential management education that adopts the Hy-Flex Flipped Learning model
This workshop reflects on a five-year history of designing and delivering micro-credential courses in response to industry demands. The Queensland Government in Australia identified business planning, continuity planning and workforce planning as key areas of industry demand based on a yearlong small business research project. This led to a series of grant funding agreements to design and deliver three micro-credential courses free to Queensland businesses. After lengthy consultation with key stakeholders, the Hy-flex, Flipped Learning Model was adopted and implemented. This delivery model gained high levels of adoption during the Covid-19 pandemic yet remains a valid and reliable delivery model post-pandemic. Many amendments to the initial model have been applied and continuous improvement initiatives have enabled adjustments to the many challenges of such a multi-faceted delivery model.
