Risk, Learn, Grow: Empowering Students Through Innovative Classroom Practices

This proposal explores how innovative, sensible risk-taking practices aligned with purposeful teaching philosophies can help empower student learning and positively impact their success. Each presenter will share creative activities and course designs that foster student engagement and learning. Research shows that barriers exist to transition away from a teacher-centered focus to a student-centered course design (Børte, Nesje, & Lillejord, 2020). By embracing innovation in teaching, educators can support both faculty professional development and student achievement. This session aims to inspire educators to consider innovative strategies that align with institutional goals, outcomes, and promote a culture of empowerment in higher education.
