Enhancing Learning Outcomes through Rubric Design: Investigating Cognitive, Emotional, and Collaborative Impacts in Higher Education
This study investigates the multifaceted impact of rubrics on learning outcomes, emotional well-being, and collaboration in higher education, focusing on business school contexts. Grounded in frameworks such as Bloom’s Taxonomy, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and Expectancy-Value Theory, it explores how rubrics designed for higher-order thinking skills influence student performance, motivation, and confidence. Using a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys and focus groups with diverse student populations, the research examines rubrics' effectiveness in managing cognitive load, reducing anxiety, and fostering inclusivity. Expected findings aim to provide actionable insights for educators, enhancing transparency, fairness, and collaboration in both individual and group learning environments.
