Facilitating Online Groups Through the Use of Optional Online Office Hours (OOOH!) for Asynchronous Courses

This paper describes an activity intended to bring humanity back into the classroom in asynchronous online classes. Optional online office hours provide a means for students and instructors to meet face to face via a video conferencing platform. This can increase the level of relationship in the group via spontaneous dialogue on topics class related and otherwise. This session will explore how we might craft these moments intentionally by exploring what we could address and who we are in these moments.
