How to Develop an Academic Escape Room: Introducing Organizational Behavior Topics via Experiential Learning

This session demonstrates how to create an academic escape room that introduces organizational behavior and management topics. The academic escape room is an experiential learning exercise in which students operate in teams to solve clues based on course-related content. The design of this activity is theoretically supported by teamwork processes theory (Crawford & LePine, 2013), as it prompts students to encounter and manage transition, action, and interpersonal processes. Session participants will experience the escape room activity first-hand. Then, a walk through the design of the activity will prepare participants to hold an academic escape room in their own classrooms.
