Livin’ In a Lonely (Asynchronous) World: Fighting Isolation with a Community of Practice for Online Management Educators

Faculty teaching online, especially asynchronously (not live), may feel they are living in a lonely world, isolated in time and space from the learners they seek to engage. In this interactive session, we bring together a diverse panel of five management educators with experience teaching a range of business management courses in the asynchronous modality. Symposium participants first work collaboratively to explore the theme of isolation in online education. Next, we share our own experiences in navigating the non-live modality. Finally, the session closes with a call to form a community of practice (COP) for interested MOBTS members.
