Managing difficult situations: Who knows best - you, AI, or experts?

This exercise invites students to step into a manager’s shoes and practice essential interpersonal skills to provide feedback to employees. Students first plan how they would respond to three real-world scenarios on manager-employee problems. Then, they practice prompting generative AI for responses to the same problems, compare their responses to expert advice on those problems provided in a podcast, and critically reflect on how to incorporate these new viewpoints into their feedback approach. Session attendees will engage in the exercise and discuss ways they can use it in their classes.
