Don't Stop Believin’: Stories of Resilience and Growth Across Academic Careers

This panel explores the deeply human journey of management educators, focusing on the challenges and setbacks encountered at various career stages—early, mid, and senior faculty. Panelists will share candid reflections on their mistakes and lessons learned as advocates of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and experiential learning. By examining institutional dogmas, skepticism from colleagues, and misunderstandings from administrators, the session delves into the personal and professional struggles faculty face in academia. The discussion aligns with the MOBTS 2025 theme, "Don’t Stop Believin’," by fostering resilience, encouraging reflection, and inspiring participants to maintain their passion for teaching. Through shared experiences and practical strategies, the session seeks to normalize vulnerability, celebrate growth, and offer actionable insights for navigating an academic career with purpose and perseverance.
