Think Like a Lawyer: Foiling AI Contributions to a Team Exercise

This session recounts how an exercise for a course about teams was redesigned to increase the odds that student responses reflected their own analysis and critical thinking versus contributions from artificial intelligence (AI). It describes how a professor’s frustration with the first iteration of the exercise led her to adopt methods commonly taught in law schools, thereby producing an alternative that better accomplished learning outcomes and that was preferred by students. Participants in this MOBTS activity session will explore how to use this design for group work within their areas of disciplinary focus.
