Defining the Problem Using the Nominal Group Technique

Abstract: This session will introduce participants to the Nominal Group Technique (NGT), walking them through the first four of its six steps due to session time constraints. The NGT is a group relational process intended for use in defining ill-defined, complex, ambiguous, strategic issues and problems, a process infrequently used in corporate and other types of organizations. The focus question will be on identifying the causes of the rising discontent among faculty in higher education about the erosion of their satisfaction with the job expectations.
