Writing Job Descriptions with Artificial Intelligence

This experiential activity has students write a job description using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Occupational Information Network’s (O*NET) job descriptions and salary information. Through critical thinking and comparison, students explore the strengths and limitations of both tools to craft a job description without conducting job analysis with a current or former job holder. The activity is designed for upper-division undergraduate students in courses that study recruiting. Session attendees will participate in the activity, debrief the activity, discuss variations, and other applications that can be used in their courses and with their student populations.
