From Results to Reason: Reimagining Rubrics for a Process-Oriented, AI-Resilient Classroom

Generative AI has fundamentally shifted the learning outcome landscape in educational environments, making it easier than ever for students to produce polished final products with minimal cognitive engagement. To maintain academic rigor and foster genuine learning, educators must shift the focus from what students produce to how they think and the process by which they make decisions. In this 60-minute workshop participants will actively audit and edit rubrics to identify opportunities to move from outcome-based assessment and to incorporate metrics for decision quality, adaptive and iterative learning, and critical reasoning.
