The Leadership Jungle: A Group Activity to Identify Core Values in Discipline-Specific University Leadership Courses and Programs

The landscape of university leadership education is experiencing a shift from foundational courses in business schools to discipline-specific courses and programs (Dugan et al., 2025; Guthrie & Jenkins, 2018), asking experts in the field to consider what the ‘core values’ of leadership education are: based on interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary approaches. The purpose of this group activity is to apply the Force Field model to identify the primary driving and resisting forces pointing toward the future of leadership university education. The groups will discuss how these forces point to a purposeful future.
