Who are the business experts?
Business schools must stay abreast of constant changes influencing the business landscape. However, a gap exists between how scholars are evaluated and rewarded and businesses’ growing needs for practical solutions to problems. We suggest that practitioner scholars, particularly those with Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degrees, could be the bridge to close the gap. We propose a roundtable discussion exploring evolving perceptions of the DBA within academic communities and considering how PhD and DBA programs can work in complementary ways to strengthen the future of business education and scholarly impact.
