From Coaching Agreements to Classroom Communities: A Dialogic Approach to Values-Based Learning

This experiential session introduces management and OB educators to a coaching-informed approach for co-creating community agreements that foster psychological safety, shared ownership, and values-aligned learning. Drawing on professional coaching practices, specifically working agreements as co-created relational boundaries, the exercise positions community agreements as collective commitments rather than instructor-imposed guidelines. We will lead participants in a process that includes community agreement creation, values discovery, and reflective revision of agreements. Through structured coaching conversations grounded in non-judgment, open inquiry, and reflective sensemaking, participants will experience how personal values can be explicitly linked to collective norms and broader professional or curricular systems.
