Re-centering Management Education on Human Dignity Through Empathy and Emotional Intelligence: Developing Values-Based Leaders

As management education evolves with technology and shifting expectations, leadership development risks overemphasizing performance and employability while neglecting humane core values such as dignity, respect, and care. This interactive symposium re-centers management education on human dignity through empathy and emotional intelligence (EI). Drawing on humanistic management, common-good HRM, and character-based leadership development, panelists will discuss how to integrate dignity-based frameworks into curricula, teach empathy and EI through experiential activities, and assess values-based leadership learning. Participants will leave with adaptable teaching tools for values-driven workplaces. Key words: human dignity, emotional intelligence, valued-based leaders
