FROM THE GROUND UP: A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO STUDENT TEAMWORK IN PROJECT-BASED COURSES

This workshop presents a comprehensive, integrated approach to student teamwork that addresses the full lifecycle of group projects in business education. The workshop shares a comprehensive pedagogical framework that transforms extended group work from a source of student frustration into a developmental opportunity. The approach encompasses five interconnected elements: strategic team formation, early conflict anticipation using case-based discussion, structured feedback skill development, developmental mid-point peer assessment, and evaluative final assessment with individual accountability. Through interactive discussion and a taste of our case-based exercises, participants will explore how relatively simple interventions can dramatically improve student experience, enhance learning outcomes, and build valuable professional skills.
