Orchestra & Choir Performance as a Blueprint for Values-Based Leadership Education: A Video-Based, Train-the-Trainer PDW for MOBTS

This workshop offers management educators a practical, values-centered framework for teaching leadership through analyzing orchestra and choir performance. Ensemble music-making offers a real-time laboratory for core leadership skills including listening, distributed leadership, psychological safety, ethical influence, accountability, and belonging. Coordination and meaning-making are observable in real time, often without words. Music education develops transferable soft skills and emotional intelligence. We support the theme “Rooted in Core Values” through our focus on values such as integrity, care, mutual respect, and shared purpose in both music and management education and through our focus on music, a core activity shared by humans.
