Case Studies to Enliven Classrooms and Online Courses

Case studies make instruction more interesting by helping connect theory to practice, facilitate critical thinking and help students engage in problem-solving. In this paper, we describe the outcomes of using case studies to supplement textbook and other course content in two courses from management and special education. We used both human created and AI generated case studies. We found no differences in the two types of case studies, making a case for the use of LLMs to create effective case studies.
