Revisiting The World of Analog and Offline Experiences Versus Digital on Well-Being and Gen Z Consumption: Implications on Management Education

In 2025, despite the rise of all things digital including artificial intelligence, there has been a resurgence to understand the benefits of analog and offline versus digital, and their effect on well-being and consumption. Part of this resurgence is driven by a projected lack of authentic consumer experiences now claimed particularly by sub-groups in the Gen Z population, which have been gaining popularity over the past year, along with concerns with well-being. While some may call this a fleeting trend, others characterize it as part of a broader movement in which all organizations need to be prepared. This comes at a time when institutions of higher education, and particularly business schools, are being pressured to adopt and train on digital practices. At the same time, there is a need to address the resurgence of analog or offline practices. In this roundtable session, we will discuss what encompasses this newer trend, where it is positioned, and how educators may better prepare for this newer phenomenon.
