What I Wish I Would’ve Known: A Panel for Doctoral Students and Early-Career Academics

In this session aimed at doctoral students and early-career academics, a diverse panel of faculty members will discuss what they wish they had known before entering the academic job market and during the early stages of their careers. The discussion extends beyond content covered in the DI and EEI to address common but rarely discussed issues drawn from panelists’ experiences. After a brief panel, attendees will rotate through tables led by panelists to talk about specific topics. This session aims to foster authentic conversation, informal mentoring, and increased confidence in navigating early-career dynamics.
