Why you should care about the Federal Government's Regular & Substantive Interaction (RSI) requirement for distance education courses.

If you teach an online course, you need to know about this requirement. You need this session, even if you don't know it yet! RSI will influence your engagement with online students. Additionally, RSI compliance impacts your institution's accreditation as well as eligibility for federal financial aid programs. While the Regular & Substantive Interactions (RSI) policy was announced in 2021 by the Federal Government, many institutions and instructors try to understand what these practices are, how to implement them, and how to track that they are being done for compliance. This roundtable will focus in on the policy, discuss best practices for adhering to the policy, and allow generous amounts of time for instructors to share with one another how they can create better courses while meeting RSI compliance.
