Expanding, Extending, and Evolving the Reach of Reflective Learning by Teaching Management and Organizational Behavior Concepts Through the DEFEAT PlanTM

This interactive exercise submission concerns expanding, extending, and evolving the reach of reflective learning for teaching within the management and organizational behavior disciplines through the DEFEAT PlanTM framework, which is an emergent reflective practice process. The session will seek to make more educators aware and capable of teaching the framework so that they can share the easy, formal, memorable, and newly constructed method with students. The DEFEAT PlanTM framework helps to envelop an objective learning event by turning it into a subjective experience through a structured and iterative process. The framework reinforces new concepts for students by employing action, experiential, and reflective learning to reduce rote memorization that is easy to forget. It requires learners to focus on and assess information fundamentally and inherently. This interactive exercise will engage educators to secure insights with social learning, which will support the progressive elaboration of the DEFEAT PlanTM model of reflective practice for teaching the process to students that helps in retaining brand new information.
