Centering the Management Educator in Promoting Student (and Faculty) Well-Being: Classroom Interventions, Policies, and Approaches

Keywords: Student well-being, faculty well-being, classroom management, mental health

Abstract: Many authors have directed attention to the mental health crisis in universities and business schools specifically. From the popular press to academic outlets, researchers have explored the causes of this crisis and have provided guidance on remedying it. While much work has rightly criticized macro-level causes of poor mental health in universities, our roundtable discussion seeks to center the management educator as a change agent where they can have an immediate impact: their courses. In this roundtable, participants will harness collective expertise to discover what actions individual educators can take to promote mental health and well-being through our own courses.
