Decolonising the Curriculum in Management

Keywords: decolonising the curriculum, management curricula, pedagogy

Abstract: Management education in UK universities is dominated by Western theories and practices. This Western-Centric perspective has excluded the perspectives and experiences of people from other cultures and regions, leading to a lack of diversity in management education and limiting its ability to promote inclusiveness and innovation. There is a need to critically examine what we teach, how and why. This roundtable discussion will concentrate on management educators’ personal experience in decolonising the management curricula to share their understandings of decolonising the curriculum and the challenges and good practices in their pedagogy.
