Abstract: A major challenge to reintegrating students into the post-pandemic classroom is overcoming the detrimental effects of COVID-19 on traditional socialization processes and the development of students’ interpersonal skills. A means by which to overcome this challenge and reestablish this important aspect of student development is to promote psychological safety within the classroom. The goal of this session is to instill within attendees the importance of establishing psychological safety, share some of our best practices for promoting psychological safety and interpersonal skill development, and provide opportunities for fruitful discussion and problem-solving.
