Abstract: The primary goal of this symposium is to generate a dialogue on the topic of future of work and its implications for the field of management education. Specifically, we will discuss how curriculum innovations to integrate experiences that better simulate a real-work situation can enhance students’ career readiness by equipping them with a toolkit of transferable “employability” skills. Our panelists include community-engaged teacher-scholars both in the US and Southeast Asia who have successfully utilized these pedagogical tools in their curriculum, university leaders who have successfully launched curriculum innovation initiatives at various levels, and researcher and editor of a journal dedicated to enhancing the scholarship of teaching and learning in the field of management. The intended outcome is to help attendees re-vision their role as more of a facilitator than that of a “sage on the stage” with the goal to provide meaningful course-relevant experience to their students.
