Abstract: Advancing Inclusive Education through Language Ecology Insights A straightforward approach to making education more inclusive draws on the concept of language ecology. By viewing education through the lens of language ecology, educators can better navigate the rich mix of languages and cultural backgrounds in their classrooms. This approach aims to create a learning environment where every student's cultural and linguistic identity is recognized and valued, leading to more effective and enriching educational experiences. Highlighting the work of Jiang and Zhang (2019), alongside Haugen's (1972) seminal contributions to language ecology, the panel discussion will look into the need for innovative pedagogies. It aims to equip educators to create supportive, engaging, and adaptable educational spaces.
